A cars A/C System can give trouble-free performance for many years. However, it is recommended your vehicle’s Air Conditioning system be serviced every year and the Receiver/Drier replaced every 5years.
Can I drive my car with a bad AC compressor?
It is highly recommended you do not continue to drive your vehicle if the A/C Compressor is defective in any way. A seized Compressor pulley can cause your serpentine belt to snap and leave you stranded. A piston-type compressor that has broken down internally may have contaminated your A/C system throughout with metal fragments. Continuing to run your compressor can cause further damage to result.
